Ellery's always grasping for stuff now. .especially when she's falling asleep....sometimes she'll wake herself up moving her hands...so I figured I'd introduce her to one of her many giraffe blankies

Mini Milestone

I am not sure if it's an "actual" milestone but Nana just called and told me that Miss Ellery discovered her hands today!!!

She's been waving them around more lately but still hadn't "discovered" them if you know what I mean.

Apparently this morning she started holding them up to her face and studying them. . . waving them more purposefully (as opposed to the random jerky movements) and holding onto things - I'm not sure she's gotten the reaching and holding thing yet.. but I'm sure it's coming soon!!!

She's such a big girl!!!

oh and happy birthday to Nonno today!!! YAY!!!

10 weeks already!!!

Ellery was 10 weeks old yesterday!!! Hard to believe....feels like she's been here forever..but at the same time it feels like yesterday. How strange is time.

Anyway.....not much by way of an update....

Friday she started holding things!!!! Granted they have to be skinny things and you have to actually PUT them in her hand...but hey...I'm counting it!!! :) YAY baby!!!

The reflux seems to be well under control (knock on something please :)) and we have our happy, smiley baby back.....

She is SO so so cute.....I know I'm biased but I can't help it...she's freakin' adorable LOL

Hi ho.. hi ho..it's back to work I go

Today's my first day back here at lovely Tufts Health Plan

In a lot of ways I'm glad (does that make me an awful person) and of course I'm sad to not be with Miss E all the time.

This morning it was so hard to pick her warm body up out of the crib and put her in the carseat...knowing John was going to be taking her away from me. I cried through her last feeding last night...just looking into those huge clear blue eyes. It's been so hard with her reflux and my PPD.....but she's so beautiful...and I am so in love with her.....so it's hard.....but at the same time I know it will be good for us all....her, me, my mom and dad (who . .thank goodness...will be watching her for us!)

We took her to see the Easter Bunny yesterday...and i wimped out on piercing her ears ROFL.....

Ellery (and Mommy) had a tough day today.

Ellery's 2 month appointment with the pediatrician was this morning.

The good news is she's growing really well - she weighs 10lbs 13oz and is 22 3/4 inches long

The bad news is that she had to have 4 vaccinations today :( she had 2 in each leg ....2 nurses administered them so it was over pretty quick but she definately turned BRIGHT purple and screamed her little heart out......so heartbreaking for mommy :(

She's had 2 doses of Tylenol and feels like she's running a slight fever...which is normal....she has been very sad and grouchy.....but is currently sleeping in the swing...

where oh where does the time go????

Ellery update.....

we saw the nurse practitioner and the GI doctor today

they seem to think there's no need for her to be on the Reglan....as it's used more for babies who are much spittier...ellery hardly ever spits up.....

plus they said irritability is a side effect...and the whole no naps grouchy thing is probably related to that....

they upped our dose of zantac from .6cc's 2 times per day to 1ml 3x per day....

hopefully this will work...we have a follow up in 4 weeks

Ellery has her Pediatric GI appointment tomorrow. I'm all at once nervous and happy it's finally here
